According to Statistics from BloggingX, the Affiliate Marketing industry is estimated to be worth $12 billion globally and if you research online, you’ll find many great stories of success in affiliate marketing. So this raises the question of why the majority of people that take this career path end up failing or quitting? There are many factors that lead to the failure of most new affiliates like the market over-saturation, the increased prices in all paid advertising channels, or even the misleading and false information given by the so called affiliate marketing mentors/gurus. These are all valid reasons but I truly believe that ONE of the major factors that a lot of beginners don’t achieve success in affiliate marketing is because they’re only looking for short-term or temporary gains. Almost all new affiliates are guilty of this including me but I realized later on after I’ve gained the experience that the true success in affiliate marketing is seen in the long term. If you’re planning to start affiliate marketing in 2021 by sending traffic directly to an offer page or by capturing customers’ emails for email marketing then you’re wasting your time. In my personal view, these strategies don’t work anymore and even if they do, it’s only going to be for a short period of time. Unless you’re a big influencer with thousands of followers, the best way for you to achieve long term success in affiliate marketing is by creating a website or blog which will eventually become YOUR BRAND. This website or blog will continue to grow throughout the years and it’s the ONLY way to ensure that all you’re hard work, creativity, and money don’t get flushed down the toilet. I’m not asking you to believe me blindly but all I want you to do is to continue reading below as I’ll share 4 CRUCIAL points of why my 7 STEP affiliate marketing strategy is the best way to do affiliate marketing in 2022 and BEYOND…

4 Reasons Why Creating a Website is ESSENTIAL for Success in Affiliate Marketing
1. Generate Free Traffic
When starting a new website, the owner needs to invest some time and money into marketing in order to receive monthly website visitors (Traffic) and generate a revenue. All the hard work done on a website promotion will not go wasted and eventually will lead to getting free organic traffic on a regular basis. This free traffic will come from various different sources like search engines, Web directories, backlinks, referrals, and social media. The best way to generate these sources of traffic is to build a complete website that provides valuable content and to optimize your website for SEO. If you don’t apply on-site and off-site SEO strategies for your website then you won’t be able to rank on any of the popular search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex, etc.) and you’ll be missing out on tons of high quality targeted traffic. Another point to pay attention to is that most of the popular social media platforms automatically block all links that goes against their policies like affiliate links or landing/squeeze pages which will make it even more difficult for you to share any links other than a properly built website. And the most important advice that I can give you about growing your website’s traffic is to concentrate on writing genuine/beneficial content that is relative to your targeted audience and to work on building quality backlinks that point back to your website.
2. Eliminate the Spies and Competitors
Some new affiliates may not be aware that they’re surrounded by thousands of lazy affiliates who can steal all their hard work in minutes. There are spy tools available to the public that many digital marketers use to find profitable marketing campaigns that are presently running on popular advertising platforms. They simply copy the landing pages and products that you’re successful with and run similar marketing campaigns on the same ad platform. Also, some sneaky affiliate managers who have access to your landing pages and statistics will try to figure out your traffic sources in order to copy paste your campaigns and make money off your hard work. I have personally experienced this myself with one of my affiliate managers as he kept on requesting my traffic source for an Audiobooks offer that I was successful with. So don’t be surprised if you face a similar situation or if one day you find an ad somewhere online that looks like yours.
Another issue that many affiliate marketers face is that the popular offers that are worth working on are being promoted by thousands of other marketers locally and globally. This makes converting offers highly competitive and gives new affiliates a lower chance of success in affiliate marketing. This is why I’ve come to the conclusion that BEST solution for this over-saturated industry is to build a website. No spy would put the effort in copy pasting your whole website and No competitor can provide the same content or use the same creative strategies that you’ll use. 3. Create Multiple Sources of Income
Let me share a little secret with you which most of the fake gurus or mentors out there don’t want to tell you….you can’t achieve REAL success in affiliate marketing by just relying on one or two affiliate offers. Yes, there are some cases where an affiliate could earn a lot of commissions on a single offer but usually that doesn’t last long unless the affiliate is an influencer with millions of followers. And that’s why I recommend new affiliates to build a proper website or blog in order to provide real value to the readers and promote multiple offers all in one place. Another important thing to know, having your own website will open up new channels of income besides earning affiliate commissions but that all depends on how good your website is. You’ll get contacted by companies who are interested to place banner ads or backlinks on your website for a monthly fee. Another way of generating an income which you can think about is to create a digital product (ex. eBooks, audiobooks, PDFs, course, etc.) and sell it on the website. And finally, the best alternative way earn money using a website or a blog is to sign up as a publisher on many of the popular Ad Networks like Google AdSense or Media.net and get paid for their ad placements.
4. Own a Digital Asset
Any website or blog you build is only destined to grow over the years and will eventually become your own digital asset. Please keep in mind that this doesn’t happen over-night and it requires hard work and consistency in order to create a value for this asset. Once that’s achieved, this website or blog can be sold for a lucrative price on many of the popular platforms like Flippa if it meets certain criteria. The market value depends on the website’s domain authority, niche & branding, volume of traffic, and monthly revenue. And let’s assume that a website didn’t accomplish any of these points, you can still try to sell it for a lower value or you can just concentrate on selling the domain by itself. If the domain is short and contains valuable keywords or creative branding then you won’t have a problem selling it in the future especially if it’s old. I have been contacted by individuals’ who were interested to buy retirementprogram.org and trafficgeneration.net even though I never built a website on these domains and I’ve only used them for some CPA marketing campaigns. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense for you to spend years helping other companies grow their traffic and brand when you have the chance to grow your own brand as well. In my personal view, real success in affiliate marketing will be reached once an affiliate owns a valuable digital asset and flips it into CASH!
